Cathleen Rutz, CPA, General Partner

Cathleen H. Rutz, CPA is a native of Edwardsville and serves as the Treasurer of MIDWEST Tax Group, Inc. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1991, passed the Certified Public Accountants Exam in Illinois in 1994, and is a licensed CPA. Cathleen also earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1999. Cathleen has  progressive accounting experience with such companies as MCI Telecommunications, Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Co., and Washington University in St. Louis.

Cathleen has over 19 years of individual tax preparation and small business bookkeeping experience as well. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Tax Professionals.

As a CPA, Cathleen is able to represent clients with the authority of an attorney before the Internal Revenue Service. Cathleen keeps her skills current via experience and continuing education.

Rose Cuca, EA, Managing Partner

 
Rose Cuca brings to MIDWEST Tax Group 30 years of experience as a tax       specialist, business owner, and educator. Her expertise covers all aspects of individual and business tax, new business startup, and the specialized tax law for home day care providers. Rose has been enrolled to practice by the Internal Revenue Service since 1987, holds degrees in Mathematics and Sociology from Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL, and is certified to teach in the State of Illinois.
 
Before the formation of MIDWEST Tax Group, Rose owned and/or managed tax practices from 1986 until 2002 in Maryville and Glen Carbon, IL, offering a full range of tax services year round, and employing a staff of tax professionals during the tax season.
 
The EA after Rose's name indicates that she has attained enrolled agent status with the Internal Revenue Service by passing a two-day examination on taxation. This status enables her to represent clients with the authority of an attorney before the Internal Revenue Service.
 
A frequent speaker on tax topics, Rose was twice the recipient of the Public Information Specialist Award from H&R Block, awarded by Henry Bloch, for her work as public speaker for that firm. She has taught tax classes privately and for H&R Block.
 
Rose is a past President of the Illinois Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals.
 
Throughout the years, Rose has been an enthusiastic and active volunteer in several community, school, and church organizations.
